Peanut Butter Apple Slices

Peanut butter is messy to measure, so I usually eyeball the amount. If you like to measure, 3/4 cups will top wedges from two apples. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 apples I used Honeycrisp
  • about 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • Topping Ideas
  • mini chocolate chips
  • toasted coconut chips
  • raisins
  • chopped peanuts
  • cocoa nibs
  • freeze dried fruit chopped
  • pomegranate arils
  • sprinkles

Instructions

  • Cut apples in half along the core. Slice each apple half into four evenly-sized wedges. Lay each wedge on its side and trim the top edge to remove the seeds and leave a flat surface.
  • Fill a pastry bag fitted with a large star piping tip with creamy peanut butter. Working one at a time, pipe peanut butter on the top surface of each wedge. Starting in the center, pipe in a spiral motion, extending the peanut butter over the edges slightly and circling back to the center before lifting up while releasing pressure.
  • Add desired toppings to the slices and set on a platter to serve or set slices on a platter alongside bowls filled with a variety of toppings for self-serve sprinkling.
